Biography

Raised in Michigan, Jillian Rose Reed was bitten by the acting bug at age seven. She began acting in children’s theater, first starring as Charlotte in "Charlotte's Web." By the time she was twelve, she had performed in over 27 musicals and plays in her home state. Jillian soon began to land local film and commercial work, and it was after shooting an ad for Ford Motor Company that she realized she wanted to pursue acting as a career. Her family made the move to California where Jillian studied in on-going Scene Study classes with Cynthia Bain at #CBYAS

Jillian began working professionally in Los Angeles soon thereafter. The Recurring role of unforgettable bad girl Simone on Showtime’s "Weeds" put Jillian on the map, along with various Guest Star roles such as "Community", "Hung", "Jesse", "Lucifer", and many others. Within a few years, Jillian landed her first Series Regular role, the sassy and fun-loving best friend, Tamara Kaplan, whom she played for 5 seasons on the award-winning MTV series "Awkward." Jillian booked this memorable role with only one audition after coaching with Cynthia. Jillian is currently enjoying her role as the spunky Naomi on Disney's animated TV Series, "Elena of Avalor."

Since she was a child, Jillian has always had a dream of being a teacher. Now combining her childhood dream of teaching with her adult passion for acting, she has truly found her happy place teaching and coaching young actors at her original home  #CBYAS. Her classes at #CBYAS are filled with success stories and students who adore her. Her private coaching clients rely upon her keen talent for coaching young actors to create stand out performances that win the room.

She’s thrilled to be a Faculty member of Cynthia Bain’s Young Actor Studio #CBYAS
